The Prostate Cancer Institute provides a regular support group at the Institute. The Men's Cancer Support Group is a group that meets in the evenings on the first Monday of alternate months. The group is for men who have any type of cancer, partners are also welcome to attend. The group provides honest, accurate information from highly qualified and entertaining speakers.

Meetings alternate between more formal education, discussion sessions and less formal, social gatherings. A range of helpful resources are available through the group, including a supportive newsletter and the opportunity to link up with some "buddies" who may have trod a similar path. Partners will also benefit from talking to other partners.

Venues and dates will be communicated once you are on our database. To find out more about our group, topics and the venue for future meetings contact: Gary Schoer, (Community Facilitator) email: gdschoer@bigpond.net.au, phone: (02) 9570 1813 or Jacqueline Lim, St George Hospital Clinical Psychologist (Professional Facilitator) phone: (02) 9350 1185, email: Jacqueline.Lim@SESIAHS.HEALTH.NSW.GOV.AU

If you are unable to attend these meetings, you can search for support groups in more convenient locations around Australia through Lions Australia. Alternatively, you can visist the online support group at You Are Not Alone Now
